CHERRY BLOSSOM
Meghalaya's Cherry Blossom Festival with Japan
Meghalaya enjoys the unique distinction of having cherry blossom trees that bloom in November, making it the first place in the world to host an Autumn Cherry Blossom Festival during this time. Organized by the Tourism Department of the Government of Meghalaya, the festival spans multiple days and features a wide variety of attractions, activities, and art installations. It has grown to become one of the region’s largest and most celebrated festivals.
Country Partner: Japan
For the first time, a country is partnering with the festival, celebrating the shared cultural, geographical, and human connections between Japan and Meghalaya.
